Description

During this tour you will visit various places and one of them is Blue Grotto, a network of six caves, boasting the most stunning views and clearest waters the Maltese Islands have to offer. Here you can take a boat ride (weather permitting) at an extra cost. You will then visit Tarxien Temples, consisting of three separate, but attached, temple structures. The main entrance is a reconstruction dating from 1956, when the whole site was restored. At the same time, many of the decorated slabs discovered on site were relocated indoors for protection at the Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. Zejtun is also included in this program; traditionally known as Città Beland, a title conferred by the grandmaster of the Order of the Knights of Malta, Ferdinand von Hompesch zu Bolheim in 1797. The first stop is the Museum of Art and History which houses a collection of paintings, sculptures, memorabilia and archaeological findings pertaining to the parish of Zejtun and its surrounding areas. Statues and items forming part of the Good Friday Procession are on permanent display within the same museum. You will then visit Luqa Briffa Garden known in Żejtun as Ġnien tal-Kmand. A place not to miss is Marsaxlokk, a small, picturesque, traditional, fishing village in the South Eastern Region of the island. The village is known for the Marsaxlokk Market, which takes place along the seafront and for the national boats which are the Luzzu and the Kajjik. These boats serve the fishermen on fishing near the shore. Finally you’ll drive to The Delimara Peninsula which forms half of Marsaxlokk coast. The peninsula is mostly known for its two tourist oriented bays: St Peter’s Pool and Kalanka Bay. It is also known as the location of the primary power station in Malta, the Delimara power station. A lighthouse, a British fort and the remains of a Hospitaller battery can also be found on the peninsula. From May to October, tour will include a swimming stop at Kalanka Bay. From November to April, tour will include a country side walk around this beautiful area.
