Girasole opens in the prolonged Maltese summer months. It is situated on an open air terrace overlooking the postcard favourite Spinola Bay. A great spot for Mediterranean dining.
The upside of this open air restaurant is the ability to gaze at the stars while enjoying the gorgeous Spinola Bay views and plenty of good food - the downside is that the Girasole restaurant can only open in the summer and, weather permitting, shoulder months.
The restaurant occupies a prime piece of real estate staring at this charming harbour in St. Julian's. The menu includes a variety of fresh Mediterranean dishes from Malta, France, Italy and Spain. The cuisine includes fresh seafood (ask for the catch of the day), Paella, pasta, salads and meats.
The general ambience and setting of the restaurant is romantic with sunflowers being the main theme of the decor throughout ('Girasole' is Italian for sunflower). Dining under the stars with the Mediterranean within grasp and very attentive service will certainly earn you amorous points with your partner. As suggested by the inverted monument across the bay, just relax and feel the 'Love'.
